Tell Me Your Tale

Tell Me Your Tale is the artist name I use when I’m working specifically in the genre of indie rock and when I’m writing songs about J. R. R. Tolkien’s trilogy The Lord of the Rings. Every song and album by Tell Me Your Tale explores some theme or setting or character or group of characters from Tolkien’s books. The phrase “Tell me your tale,” comes from the chapter “Treebeard” in The Two Towers when Treebeard (the tree-like Ent character) tells Merry and Pippin, “Now tell me your tale,” after he lies down to rest, to listen to their stories, and to prevent the Ent draught he just drank from rising to his head and putting him to sleep.
